From 8 to 10 January 2023, Hardware, trade fair for the hardware and tools industry, was held at the Messe Luzern. It mobilised around 2,000 professionals from all over Switzerland and convinced as a high-quality meeting place and marketplace – also for the new generation of the industry. We were on site and felt the pulse of the customers.
Hardware was the meeting place for the Swiss hardware and tool industry from 8 to 10 January 2023. «The leading trade fair offered a unique overview of the sector, because the entire competence of the industry was united at the hardware,» says Christoph Rotermund, Managing Director of Swissavant, the trade association for crafts and households.
Around 2,000 professionals used this platform to obtain centralised information about the brands’ products and innovations and to cultivate their personal networks. «The hardware offers a lot of space for direct exchange and dialogue among professionals. The contacts that are made here are of high quality and sustainable,» Rotermund is pleased to say. He sums up: «Hardware 2023 has exceeded our expectations.»
An app for the craftspeople of the future generation.
The industry association Swissavant invited ieffects and we were allowed to be on site for one day. Urs Marti was able to exchange ideas with several manufacturers and dealers and thus gather new impulses. «It is important to me to find out directly about the needs of the professionals. The hardware is a good opportunity to gather new inspiration for future app developments,» says Urs Marti, CEO of ieffects.
«From our experience in technical wholesale, we can say that customers grow strongly with an app. Only when you hold a tool in your hands do you know what you are talking about. It is similar for our customers with mobile solutions. An app from ieffects is made by software engineers for practitioners and you can feel that in the practical application. The young generation in particular is on the move and appreciates being able to interact with the retailer as instantaneously as possible. We love our craft and that is exactly our success.»
As is well known, after a fair is before the fair. Thus, the next Hardware will take place again in Lucerne from 12 to 14 January 2025. We look forward to further contact with the exciting hardware and tool industry and the resulting app projects.
